Lindstrom – Six Cups of Rebel (Smalltown Supersound)
As one of the main purveyors of the “space disco” aesthetic, a new release from Lindstrom is a great way to introduce new ears to the style. On Six Cups of Rebel, the Norwegian producer brings sounds usually reserved for Pink Floud albums to the dancefloor, proving that the genre is still vibrant and energetic as ever. Standouts “Déjà Vu” and the 10 minute long “Hina” mix and match elements of funk, rock, electro and – of course – plenty of disco. The result is a detailed album that’s equally party-ready as it is headphones worthy. – Mike Nigro
