So, if you’re looking for some ironic nostalgia, or maybe a cheap gift for your little sister, we got you covered! We’re selling the stickers for 25 cents and the patches for 50 cents! It’s grab bag style. Just come in and dig through.
Spend some time with this list of The 50 Greatest Hip-Hop Samples Of All Time, presented by Kon & Amir over at Complex.
Every song is accompanied by a full stream of the track, along with a quick rundown by Kon & Amir, and a full stream of one essential hip-hop song that uses that track as a main sample.
I’m on #50 right now. It’s David Axelrod’s “Holy Thursday,” which was sampled by Swizz Beatz on “Dr. Carter.” It’s gonna be a long night… where’s my Wax Poetics??
We mentioned before that the new Band of Horses album, Infinite Arms would be available for $7.99 next week. Now the new Black Keys album, Brothers, has been added to the list as well! So that’s two awesome Right Price titles for next week! The Black Keys will be sale priced at $9.99. You can listen to Infinite Arms here and Brothers is streaming at NPR! It’s gonna be a good week.
