Diane’s top “10″ of 2009

Due to personal qualms with quantifying anything, my list is just in alphabetical order (plus one honorable mention thrown in the mix.)

Oh, hello.

Alela Diane - to be still.

Beautiful all around. Best Live performance of the past year at the Philadelphia Folk Festival.

Bill Callahan-  sometimes I wish we were an eagle.

Engulfing (SMOG LIKE) soliloquizing vocals.

Dirty Projectors - bitte orca.

Vocal acrobatics.

Heartless Bastards – the mountain.

Confident folk-blues.  All things good.

Kurt Vile - childish prodigy.

Lo-fi Philly boy.

Le Loup – family.

Atmospheric with a title the permeates throughout the lyrics.

Phoenix – wolfgang amadeus phoenix.

Any album that allows me to shake my hair throughout its entirety is okay in my books.

Raekwon - only built 4 cuban linx 2.

Shit IS bulletproof, Raekwon.

Real Estate - real estate

I like when music can be equated to a season and this album feels like summertime.

Rural Alberta Advantage - hometowns.

Stripped indie emotionalism.  Also, the band members are unnaturally adorable/positive.

XX - xx

Straight to the point.
